Porto offers rich Port wines and the freshest seafood, but also a fusion of modern with gothic and baroque styles. Charming cobbled streets wind through the city exposing all the beauty of the diverse architectural signature of Porto. Such variety offers plenty to savour and this is what makes Porto one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. You can get from the airport into Porto by taking the E (purple) metro line toward Estádio do Dragão; the Lapa, Trindade and Bolhão stops are nearest the city's center. Various shuttle services also ferry travelers between the airport and the city. Or, you can get a cab to or from the airport.

Porto Metro opens every day at 6 am and the last train departs at 1 am. Depending on the time of day, the metro can pass every 4 to 15 minutes. If you purchase the Porto Card or the Andante Tour Card, you’ll have unlimited access to the city’s metro system.

The buses in Porto run from approximately 6 am until 1 am. If you have the Porto Card or the Andante Tour travel card, you can get on any of the city’s buses as many times as you wish.

With the passage of time, trams in Porto have become a popular tourist attraction rather than a means of transport.

The Funicular dos Guindais, also known as The Guindais Funicular, is an elegant and unique way of getting from one part of the city to the other.
